North Sulawesi — Lantamal VIII officially bid farewell to the departure of the Philippine Warship BRP Artemio Ricarte PS-37 from the Samuel Languyu Pier, Satrol Lantamal VIII, on Wednesday (20/11). This departure marks the end of a series of activities for CORPAT PHILINDO XXXVIII YEAR 2024, which took place in the Lantamal VIII area of operation.
The Commander of Lantamal VIII, First Admiral TNI May Franky Pasuna Sihombing, CHRMP., was represented by the Asops Danlantamal VIII at the farewell ceremony. Also present at the event were the Head of Delegation Corpat Philindo XXXVIII-24 Captain Junjie B Tabuada PN., Lantamal VIII senior officers, the Philippine Consul General’s representative in Manado, staff officers from Ban V Sops Mabes TNI, Danyonmarhanlan VIII, and Lantamal VIII unit heads.
The departure of the Philippine warship marks the end of the joint training between the Indonesian Navy and the Philippine Navy, which has been ongoing for several days. CORPAT PHILINDO is a routine joint exercise aimed at enhancing cooperation and interoperability between the two countries in maintaining security and stability in the waters of Indonesia and the Philippines.
The exercise included various activities such as tactical exercises, shooting exercises, and SAR exercises. It is expected to enhance the capabilities and professionalism of both navies in facing various threats in the maritime region.
